Privacy & youth safety
Many people using this site are Scouts under 18. We collect as little as possible.
What we don't collect
- No accounts for Scouts or parents. Saved classes are kept only in your browser on this device.
- No names, ages, birthdays or unit numbers for Scouts.
- No registration or payment — you register directly with each class organizer.
What we do collect
- Reminder emails: if you ask for a reminder, we store that email address only to send the reminders you chose, with your consent. Every email has a one-click stop link. Scouts under 13 should ask a parent or guardian to sign up.
- Anonymous site statistics: which pages are visited, what is searched (and how many classes were found), which buttons and links are clicked, how long pages take to load, and errors. Each browser tab gets a random visit number; there are no cookies and nothing that names you. We also note the website that sent you here (its name only) and any campaign tag in the link. These help us see what families look for and fix what isn't working, and power “trending” and organizers' view and save counts.
- On your device: your saved classes, your chosen location and the date of your last visit are kept in your browser. The last-visit date lets our statistics count returning visitors; it isn't linked to you and you can clear it with your browser's site data.
- Litlyx: we also use Litlyx, a privacy-focused analytics service hosted in the EU, to count page visits and actions like saving a class or opening a counselor form. It receives the page address, the site that sent you and your browser type. We never send it names, emails, phone numbers or addresses.
- Organizer accounts (adults only): people who list classes give a name, email address and password, and the classes they submit.
- Become a counselor form: it fills in the official form on your own device and downloads it. We don't save your answers.
Home-based classes
When a counselor teaches from home, we show only the general area and an approximate map pin. The exact address is shared by the organizer after registration.
Youth protection
Follow Scouting America's Youth Protection policies, including the buddy system and two-deep leadership, at every class — online or in person. Classes are run by independent organizers; confirm details with your unit leader.
